We are excited to offer before-school classes at Fairmount Elementary School! Before School Classes: Intro to Theater on Mondays : 7:40-8:40a : $165 March 6, 13, 27 : April 3, 10, 17, 24 : May 1 In this 8-week Theater class students will get a first hand look at some of the introductions into the wonderful world of acting and drama. Students will learn how to make and use props, focus training, how to use motion to create characters, script reading and writing, improv, group work and storytelling with action! They will also learn great skills in team building, project creating, and thinking fast on your feet! This is a fun course for all ages in all stages of theater training. Ukulele Class on Tuesdays : 7:40-8:40a : $165 March 7, 14, 28 : April 4, 11, 18, 25 : May 2 Students participating in this class will learn the basics of music including chords, strumming patterns, basic music theory and techniques on ukulele. Students will collaborate with their classmates and the teacher to choose songs to learn and perform as a class as well as individually. *Ukulele class has a $55 materials charge, this can be waived if student has their own ukulele.  If your child has their own ukulele and plans to bring it to class, use promo code ukulele at checkout to save the $55 materials charge.  If your child does not have their own ukulele, we will provide them with their own instrument for the $55 materials charge. Drum Class on Wednesdays : 7:40-8:40a : $165 March 8, 15, 29 : April 5, 12, 19, 26 : May 3 This class is designed to teach students the basics of playing the drums. Students will focus on learning proper technique, reading basic rhythms, and learning basic drum grooves. Each student will be issued a practice pad and drum sticks in the first class to take home so they can practice concepts learned during each class (unless they’re a returning student and already have these items).  By the end of this class, students will be able to play basic rhythms and grooves on a full drum set with cymbals! *Drum class has a $25 materials charge. If your child is a continuing student and already has the drum sticks and drum pad, use promo code drum at checkout to save the $25 materials charge.  If your child is a new drum student and does not have the sticks and drum pad yet, we will provide them with these for the $25 materials charge. Piano Class on Thursdays : 7:40-8:40a : $165 March 9, 16, 30 : April 6, 13, 20, 27 : May 11 Join us for lots of piano fun on Thursday mornings! This class is great for kids that have never had piano and would like to try it out, and for kids that have had some piano and want to continue to improve their skills and learn more! Each student will work on their own keyboard in class, will be able to progress at their own pace and have opportunities in class to perform for their peers in a fun, and encouraging environment! *Piano class has a materials charge of $25. If your child is a continuing student and already has the piano book, use promo code piano at checkout to save the $25 materials charge.  If your child is a new piano student and does not have their own book yet, we will provide them with a book for the $25 materials charge. Talent Show Prep Class on Fridays : 7:40-8:40a : $125 March 3, 10, 31 : April 7, 14 Talent show is on the evening of 4/14 with dress rehearsal on the evening of 4/12. Students that are wanting to become more comfortable on stage and performing in front of their classmates will really love this class. We’re going to focus on every person’s talent individually and get them ready and excited for the talent show audition. This will be an incredible opportunity to get better at your skills and have lots of fun doing it. There will be lots of cheering and clapping and fun to be had as well as some hard work.
