Catherin Cuellar – Violin and Piano

Born in London, England, Catherine started violin at age 3 with Sheila Nelson.  Subsequently started piano at age 9 with Tessa Nicholson.  After emigrating to the US, Ms. Cuellar decided to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance from the University of Houston and studied with renowned pianists Abbey Simon and Ruth Tomfohrde.  While there, Ms. Cuellar played violin in the University of Houston Symphony Orchestra.  Upon graduation, she began playing violin with the Galveston Symphony Orchestra and completed the Suzuki violin teacher training program.  During this time, she worked for a variety of local music schools and eventually opened a studio in her home where she taught until deciding to devote full-time to raising her children.  Catherine moved to Colorado a few years ago and joined the Maestro Music staff this past year as a violin and piano teacher.
