Tailored for those with a foundational understanding of the piano, this half-day workshop focuses on collaborative piano performance, technique refinement, and the joy of creating music together. Workshop Highlights:
    1. Ensemble Dynamics: Dive into the world of collaborative piano playing, exploring the nuances of ensemble dynamics and communication.
    2. Repertoire: Engage in composition(s) carefully selected to challenge and inspire intermediate-level pianists.
    3. Technical Mastery: Receive targeted guidance to refine your piano technique, addressing key aspects such as finger agility, expression, and balance within an ensemble.
    4. Musical Interpretation: Learn the art of musical interpretation, exploring ways to convey emotion and storytelling through your piano playing in a group setting.
    5. Short Ensemble Performance: Conclude the workshop with a brief ensemble performance, allowing participants to showcase their collaborative and individual achievements.
    Prerequisites:
    • Intermediate-level proficiency on the piano.
    • Ability to read sheet music.
    • Open to pianists with a passion for ensemble playing.
    Audition Requirements: A video of the student playing should be submitted for their audition.  Students should play 2 octave scales in at least 3 major keys (except C major) and play two contrasting solo pieces suitable to their skill level.
    • Video submissions should be no longer than 12 minutes.
    • Video Audition Deadline: Friday, March 22, 2024. Audition results will be posted by March 26th. Students will receive their parts by March 31st.

This summer we will explore the wonderful world of musical theater. We will cover improvisation, vocal technique, choreography, and much more, which will all culminate in an amazing performance of some of the best and most favorite musical scenes today. We will cover audition prep, show prep, and delve deep into character development.  Break out of your shell and come join our journey. This class is open to ages 10-18 and will be a week-long musical adventure. Hope to see you there!   • In this course, we will be learning basic to advanced technique and theory.  We will be using a list of popular songs in order to learn and internalize several concepts.  Beginning with basic chords and strumming, by the end of the course we will approach basic improvising.  By the end of the course, you should expect to know how to learn most songs using our instructor Joey's process.  We'll be learning rock, pop, blues, and funk in this course.  You'll be leaving each week with a specific list of things to work on in order to succeed in the next week's lesson. Students should bring their own guitar.  If you need to purchase a guitar, please contact us and we can help you select one.   • July 10 - 14th , 2023 : 9:00am to 4:00pm  (drop off begins at 8:30am, camp starts promptly at 9:00am) We are bringing back our Instrumental Summer Camp this year which will cover a myriad of ensemble opportunities. We will be offering Rock Band, Orchestra, Choir/Theater, Piano and composition. Summer Campers will have the opportunity to learn new instruments in addition to honing their skills on their primary instrument. Students will work in large and small ensemble groups and perform a variety of music at the end of the week!   • This 12-week class is open to students ages 6-18 No prior training or knowledge of music is required - beginners are welcome to join!  Students participating in this class will help to choose the music they’ll be learning for the semester, be assigned solo parts (as needed), learn choreography for each piece and monologues. Students that participate in this class will be included in the fall recital performances in December.   • Do you love to sing? Come join class voice with us!  This 12-week class is for beginner students with little to no previous training in singing and/or music. Open to students ages 12-18 years old. Classes are on Fridays from 5-6p. Students will learn proper warm-up techniques, choose repertoire with the instructor, learn stage presence and have opportunities to perform in front of their class.  Students that participate in this class are encouraged to participate in the fall recital in December, but are not required to.
