Immerse yourself in the world of string ensemble playing with our half-day workshop designed for beginner to intermediate level string players. Perfect for those with a passion for music and limited time, this workshop offers a condensed yet enriching experience in collaborative string performance.
Workshop Highlights:
- Introduction to Ensemble Playing: Discover the joy of playing in a string ensemble, fostering teamwork and musical synergy.
- Accessible Repertoire: Engage with a selection of repertoire carefully chosen to suit the skill levels of participants, covering classical and contemporary pieces.
- Focused Technique Session: Receive targeted guidance on essential string techniques, enhancing your playing proficiency.
- Expressive Playing: Learn how to infuse expression into your music, adding depth and emotion to the ensemble performance.
- Short Performance: Conclude the workshop with a brief ensemble performance, allowing participants to showcase their newfound skills.
Prerequisites:
- Ability to read sheet music at a beginner to intermediate level.
- Open to violinists, violists, cellists, and double bassists.
Audition Requirements:
An audition video of the student should choose two contrasting pieces appropriate to their level of playing.
- Video submissions should be no longer than 10 minutes.
- Video Audition Deadline: Friday, March 22, 2024.
